Anesthesia technology course is a job oriented paramedical course. During an operation, various equipment’s, anesthesia and instruments are involved. Anesthesia technician is trained to handle provide adequate dose of anesthesia and assist Doctor or Surgeon performing the surgery.
An Anesthesia technician usually is a part of a team that comprises of Doctors/Surgeons, nurses and other paramedical staff. He/she usually functions under the instructions of the Doctor/Surgeon leading the surgery. Besides assisting the Doctor/Surgeon in surgery, OTs are also capable of taking care of basic patient monitoring activities. ICUs, CCUs and Emergency departments are common places where OT technicians can be found in action.
