Operation theater technology course is a job oriented paramedical course. During an operation, various equipments, anesthesia and instruments are involved. An operation theater technician is trained to handle these equipments, arrange surgical instruments, provide adequate dose of anesthesia and assist Doctor or Surgeon performing the surgery.
An OT technician usually is a part of a team that comprises of Doctors/Surgeons, nurses and other paramedical staff. He/she usually functions under the instructions of the Doctor/Surgeon leading the surgery. Besides assisting the Doctor/Surgeon in surgery, OTs is also capable of taking care of basic patient monitoring activities. ICUs, CCUs and Emergency departments are common places where OT technicians can be found in action.

Candidate must have passed Higher Secondary exam (12 th standard )
Students of any group (science, commerce or any other group) are eligible to join this course. Any medical professionals (Eg. GNM) can get specialized in operation theatre technology.
Global institute follows direct admission process. Interested candidates have to fill the application form. Deserving candidates will be allotted seats depending upon intake capacity of the institute and marks scored by them in board examination.
After completing DOTT course, Diploma holders may go for B.Sc. program. In Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology, B.Sc. in OT Technology, B.Sc. in Medical Technology (Operation Theatre) and B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Techniques.
For further advanced studies, one may go for M.Sc., PG Diploma as well as PG Certificate courses.
